Fun fact: JDM Honda Fits are 8" shorter than USDM. This is what I got for trusting eBay.

Damn, that sucks! Any way you can return it or get your money back? I imagine if you filed a grievance with Ebay showing them the seller’s guarantee that it supposedly fit and your photo showing that it doesn’t, maybe you could get your money back?

Yeah, I’m working on that now. The seller actually has a good rating so I’m sure they’ll refund it

Would you have to send it back I assume?

Technically it fits your Fit but not the way you want it to. Glad you’re not throwing a fit over it. Maybe it needs a JDM bumper cover? It also looks like it’s for the 3rd-gen cars, not the first (a.k.a. Jazz).

It’s definitely for the 2nd gen, it’s just that everything in front of the doors is different between JDM and USDM

Yeah, I’m going to see if they’ll pay for shipping. If not I’ll file a complaint

Is the Euro model closer to the USDM or JDM.

I’m not actually sure... I know the US model is longer due to crash test regulations but I’m not sure which version they sell in Europe

This is something I was looking into a while back. The Fit and Jazz are very similar cars but are distinguished by different crash structures. Pretty much the Fit has the US-spec 5mph bumpers, the Jazz meets European/Asian specs. Interestingly, the Jazz and Fit are sold along side each other in some markets as separate models aimed at different market segments, although in most markets they sell either the one or the other, although whether it gets called the Fit or Jazz seems to be dependent on the specific market.

The differences are the bumpers/ fascia, grill, and upper radiator support. A friend was asking a while back if I could help her turn her Fit into a Jazz, because she wanted something different and cool that most people wouldn’t realize without knowing what they were looking at. I bought her a (maybe) genuine OEM Jazz badge from Thailand and told her it was the best I could do. I like her too much to risk compromising the crash structure by drilling out spot welds and welding the new radiator support in. Not that I expect her to ever have a collision that severe, especially not one that was her fault, but she did spend her summer in the NWT. That Fit covers a TON of ground.

Interesting, I had no idea they were sold alongside each other in some markets. There’s a build thread of someone in Canada doing a JDM conversion and it required A LOT of work. I’d be tempted if it were just the bumper, but it’s the entire front end of the car

I remember seeing a couple build threads. There was more going on in the major rebuild IIRC than just the swap. Memory doesn’t serve me so well about it, whether there was a collision, an engine swap, using aftermarket parts, what all else. I’d have to dig up the thread as well, but I want to say I remember someone saying something like “well you really only need X, Y, and Z but I’m also doing T, U, V, and W for the sake of it ”.

The markets they were sold together were like, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, that sort of area, I think. Possibly they’re just a ton of imports from all over the place, I don’t really know much about those specific markets. Again I don’t really remember which was which cause it was quite a while ago and I didn’t really care all that much about Hondas before or after that point.

Hmm, makes sense given NCAP/JDM vs NHTSA regulations.
